Nature stores an amazingly beautiful palette of colors that can be used to create enchanting fabrics. During this workshop you will be introduced to the different techniques and plants used to extract color such as onion skins, avocado pits and loquat leaves.

The seminar will include dances from eastern Crete. Emphasis will be placed on the "stiacos pidihtos," which was registered in 2018 in the national inventory of intangible cultural heritage. Consequently, the local dance dialect of the dance, as danced in the village of Chametzis Sitia, will also be taught. There will be the presence of old dancers who will show us the dance dialect of the stiacos pidihtos dance in the village of Chametzis, as well as musical accompaniment by local artists who will further enhance this activity. If there is interest from the participants, there will also be a brief educational approach to dances from the rest of Crete. The seminar is open to all levels.

The workshops are for beginners and will help you in your first steps in the arts of weaving and dyeing

In our workshop we will take a look back to the roots of the art of mosaic and the evolution of the style and materials. We will demonstrate the traditional stone and glass cutting techniques and the basics of mosaic making techniques, through the creation of small-scale works.
