Description

Antonia Dretaki & Venetia Galanaki – Natural Dyeing Workshop

Workshop Type: Hands-on, Practical

Participant Level: Beginners

Teaching Hours: July 8-9 | 18:00-20:30

Natural Dyes

Nature holds an incredibly beautiful palette of colors that can be used to create stunning textiles. During this workshop, you will be introduced to various techniques and plants used for color extraction, such as onion skins, avocado pits, and loquat leaves.

Through this traditional practice, we can gain a deeper understanding of the origins of the fabrics around us and create unique pieces that reflect the landscape. All plants used in this workshop are either foraged or sourced from local farmers, and the fabric used is either recycled or organic.

We will experiment with three to four different plants and flowers, creating a variety of colors using modifiers. You will dye samples of different fabrics and shades.

A detailed dyeing guide will be provided.
