The aim of the seminar is for the students to come into contact with the Cretan repertoire through the wind instruments, to learn about the history and role of these instruments and their place in today's Cretan music. We will study traditional repertoire from Crete (contilia, jumping dances, trots) but also from other islands (trots, balls) The seminar is open to all levels. Written material in Western notation will be provided

RESUME
Andreas Arvanitis was born in Athens in 1988. Since 2006, he has been participating in feasts, concerts, festivals, and recordings of Cretan art and ethnic music, playing lyre, lute, and Cretan wind instruments.
He has been teaching at music schools and Cretan associations since 2008 and has collaborated with: George Xylouris (Psarogiorgis), Eirini Derembei and Karolos Kouklakis, Nikos and Antonis Xylouris, Thodoris Kotonias, Nikos Mamagakis, Maria Koti, Michalis Stavrakakis, George Skordalos, etc.
